Niki Zohdi is a British/Persian composer, tenor & conductor. He was recently awarded with a practice PhD in composition at the University of Leeds supervised by Mic Spencer and Martin Iddon.

Niki completed both an undergraduate degree in music and a master’s degree in composition at Goldsmiths under the tutelage of Roger Redgate and has also received tuition in composition from Chaya Czernowin and Pierluigi Billone. Later in 2026,

Niki will have a brand new piece premiered by the Leipzig-based ensemble, Contemporary Insights; a theorbo piece at the Brighton Early Music Festival; and, a choir & percussion piece at the Ruvo Coro Festival in Ruvo di Puglia. In addition to being a composer, Niki is a tenor both in solo and choral contexts. He sings in the professional choir Luminatus, in the choir of Sheffield Cathedral and is a co-founder of the Yorkshire-based vocal ensemble, Vivify.

As a conductor, Niki is a resident conductor at the Bled Contemporary Music Festival (Slovenia) having conducted several world premieres in 2025 and has been invited back to the 2026 version of the festival as a composer and conductor in residence. Niki teaches singing, composition and theory privately in the North of England.
