Nick Garrett

Nick Garrett has played trumpet for the Nidderdale Messiah for 4 years. He started learning the cornet aged 7 playing in brass bands and went on to complete 6 courses for the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain and as an adult became the principal cornet player of The Harrogate Band when it was in the Championship Section.
 

He plays trumpet in function bands locally and for the last 9 years has been the musical director of The Knaresborough Silver Band where he has helped set up a new training band.
 

He is Chief Executive of Wellspring Therapy and Training, a trustee of local and national charities, advises the national Methodist Church on AI and Leeds University on social science projects and enjoys teaching brass players of all ages.
